Under Consciousness

This is one of those pieces that told me where it wanted to go. It doesn't feel quite finished ... but I don't know what it wants next either.

The figure was challenging to draw. Partially because I started it when the drug effects were still strong, meaning I was dizzy and my hand- eye coordination wasn't great. But it needed to get out. I'm not satisfied with the face or body position accuracy, but i'm also learning to let go of accuracy. The colouring turned out darker than I would have liked too. The paper is at least 25+ years old and I wonder how that affects its quality.

The symbols came out by themselves...all icons that have meanings to me. I see this is an array of experiences/feelings/"stuff" that has been swirling around in me. I can feel there are more...and have a feeling that symbols may make their into my art in the next while. Not surprising as language, symbols, ciphers and codes areall topics of interest I am and will be exploring further.

These symbols feel like a language with myself...as if my pschye is showing me a message...communicating from Soul Self to Mind Self through the force of artistic expression. It's my mind that interprets and reads them....

I find perspective facinating and find it fun to notice how the image changes as the angle of the viewer's perspective shifts. It's one of the challenges I face while creating art, but this approach kind of delights me.
