I looked for you..

I looked for you in your bedroom,

But your sheets were cold, 

No trace of any warm body.

I looked for you in the house,

But the familiar pit pat of you footsteps I did not hear.

I looked for you around the village,

But no one had seen or heard you,

Only missing keys gave any clue.

I looked for you along the coast,

No sandy shore, turf, storefront left unturned.

But no fresh footsteps did I come across. 

I looked for you in the ocean.

Salty waves crashing swiftly down,

Pounding out my muffled calls.

You were too far away for me to see.

But perhaps you could see me looking for you in the vast crests and valleys.

I looked towards the sky,

Whispering your name in a prayer,

To come back to me,

But the breeze only sang another’s melody.

And so I cried,

And cried,

Salt crusted cheeks washed by the tide of brine streaming towards the sea. 

Someone must of heard my pleas, 

To see the glimpse of you before you completely leave my world.

I didn’t find you,

But you found me,

Not in a note or letter,

Not in lunch call or visit ,

Or any form tangible to my earthly being.

But you found me,

And I found you,

In my dreams.

In me.
